  As a PD Engineer at Naylor Industries Plastics Division, I had the opportunity to experience product development for a wide range of products at Naylor's largest manufacturing site. I have also gained a valuable insight into other areas of the business such as operations, manufacturing, logistics, sales, quality assurance and product certification (BBA/ENATS/BSI), with which I am involved in as part of my role providing technical assistance.Responsibilities:• CAD based design and development (Solidworks).• Hands-on testing and FEA simulation.• Maintaining/updating central directory for CAD models and drawings. • Production of technical documentation and installation guides.• Undertaking site visits and liaising with design teams.• Providing support/technical assistance for the NPD Team and other departments. Accomplishments so far:• Produced and updated 3D models/drawings for more than 100 products. • Supporting Divisional Managing Director in aspects for improving operations and reducing costs. • Produced a large scale database cataloguing properties/data for all products from a wide range of sources for marketing and inventory purposes.• Assisted colleagues as part of Made in Barnsley in introducing secondary school students to the industry and around our site.
