I am a passionate advocate of the potential for digital innovation to improve patient care. We are seeing incredible advances in AI, big data, image recognition, wearable technology which have the potential to revolutionise our whole health care system. As a practicing haematologist, I'm incredibly excited about these changes - better access to data to inform our clinical decisions and less time spent on repetitive tasks. And there is also a great opportunity to break down the many barriers that exist within our current healthcare model so that patients have more flexibility and autonomy over when and how they receive their care. Doing this safely and responsibly is going to be a real challenge - but something I'm keen to collaborate with industry and academics to try and implement.
