Managed the SAP ECC (GL) Code Block elements as AIG integrates all General Ledgers into a single global instance. This included all Accounts and Extensions, Profit Center, Cost Center, Trading Partner, Intra-Company Trading Partners, Legacy Tables and mappings, and the remainder of the code block. Managed a staff of 6 in US and 8 in Manila, Philippines to support 1000+ financial users in AIG global divisions.All work was implemented manually under SAP Enhancement Pack 4. Direct access of ECC tables was necessary as no MDM tools were implemented. Responsible for supporting the SAP MDM/ECC code block as AIG transitions all GL applications into a single global instance. This included US Domestic, Canada, Treasury, Bermuda, UK, Nordic Region, Latin America, and Japan.  Managed the domestic legacy tables until completion of full globalization and mapping legacy to MDM/ECC. Created a website to standardize MDM forms for all code block elements, and all development and production regions. Designed workflow of forms, approvals, MDM governance and data submission via BDC to update MDM/ECC components. Managed audit compliance for Sarbanes-Oxley, IRS, Federal, state regulators and internal audits.

Responsible for implementation of AXS-One (formerly Computron) General Ledger. Concentration in Unix/C/Oracle SQL server and Access/VBA/SQL desktop development environments to provide practical, results oriented solutions for the GL implementation.Responsible for audit compliance for Sarbanes-Oxley, IRS, state regulators and internal audits. Manage production changes in compliance with Change Management procedures, PVCS version control and audit guidelines.Manage 4 FTE and 7 FTC with a budget of $2+ million to maintain the GL application and develop processing and reporting functionality. Support of 500+ users in AIG Comptrollers is provided on an 24/7 scheduled basis.  Developed applications to automate AIG processing, replacing manual tasks and headcount with approximately 100,000 lines of computer programming. These applications permit AXS-One to execute 24/7 processing data from 34 mainframe sources and hundreds of manually generated files among 8 GL environments; run a series of reports; and provide data extracts to downstream applications. The automation processes validate source feed files; provide reconciliation and company/account analyses; summarize AXS-One GL process reporting; and email results to GL user groups. Developed programs to monitor file systems and Oracle database capacities; apply monthly data reorganization as specified by Comptrollers; convert codes from source systems to fit within AXS-One constraints; and desktop applications to permit manual creation of recurring entries. Created specifications and managed development for Tata Consulting (TCS) resources to develop mainframe interfaces to 34 financial source systems.  Created specifications and managed development of data extraction and reporting applications to permit information dissemination in minutes using WebFocus, Cognos and SQL application and replaced native AXS-One GL functionality that previously required hours to process.

Responsible for the development and the management of client/server applications in the sales and title development areas. Developed the Title Information Database combining editorial, contract, royalty, sales and marketing data that interfaced with existing mainframe applications and BDD Website. Provided concise product and sales analysis for presentations. Created a data model consisting of over 4100 data elements for implementation in the SAP Project System module. Identified required information through business reviews, requirements gathering and process analysis. Provided management with data necessary to better manage the book development process. Designed a database to manage the contract boilerplate, territorial rights, royalties and permissions to consolidate processes and to provide consistent data and easy data retrieval.

Responsible for the development and management of client/server and VAX based financial applications across six Private Bank divisions, and consolidating into a single application all Private Bank financial analysis and reporting systems including client account analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Restructured internal data architecture to add functionality and correct data inconsistencies. Provided accurate customer information and easier data retrieval. SQL code generation used to rebuild the database and save programming costs. Created standard reports with query abilities. Provided financial analysts with more accurate and accessible data. Integrated twenty product data feeds, G/L, F/A, budget and forecast into one database. Provided consistent information used by financial analysts in the budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting processes. Extensive use of planning tools to improve project planning, scheduling and management and use of CASE to improve analysis, design and development.

 Created corporate-wide financial planning applications, covering the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes. Improved the productivity of financial managers by providing standardized analytical tools. Developed networked financial software integrating personal computers, UNIX based minicomputers and a mainframe based general ledger. Provided global electronic data distribution and analysis to all McGraw-Hill divisions.

 Designed and developed financial modeling and accounting applications, recommended hardware and software options, and identified areas where automated systems would reduce expenses and improve productivity. Forerunner in developing business applications on microcomputers. Replaced a manual A/R operation with a microcomputer application providing point of entry transaction processing; past due notices; open invoice lists; aging reports; and journal entry transmission to a mainframe G/L. Created a three year estimating model to help management forecast the performance of business units by analyzing current year revenue and expense estimates, and projected inflationary and growth increases in "business as usual" and investment scenarios. This application proved to be an essential tool in magazine acquisition analysis. Replaced a mainframe inventory application with a microcomputer application providing point of entry transaction processing with journal entry transmission to the mainframe G/L. Reports of inventory levels, consumption by magazine and inventory age helped to reduce the paper supply to $6 million from $10 million and eliminated $200,000 in annual processing charges.

Responsible for all order entry, customer services, billing, product fulfillment and marketing information systems in the division. Directed fifteen FTEs providing support and enhancement to existing applications across all S&P business units. Designed the consolidation of 29 systems for order management, customer service, billing, accounts receivable, circulation fulfillment, sales commissions, product management and marketing analysis, integrating five McGraw-Hill operating units with combined revenues of $600 million. This re-engineering effort was directed towards improving the product management and customer service across all Standard & Poor’s products. Developed an application to administer a hard/soft dollar securities trading business, replacing a mainframe, batch system with a UNIX/C/Oracle environment. Integrated local data collection and feeds from brokerage, clearing house and corporate G/L. Provided accurate and timely analysis of all S&P Securities customer accounting.
