My 30 years as a litigator in California has focused on toxic tort, environmental, product liability, professional liability and general casualty matters. Given the role insurance plays in most cases and Wilson Elser’s deep association with the industry, I also provide coverage analysis and litigation representation for liability insurers. I have successfully represented clients in massive CERCLA, groundwater and acid mining contamination cases across the state. To do my part as an officer of the court and keep abreast of issues on the other side of the bench, I have volunteered in local courts as an arbitrator and small claims judge. Contributions to my profession include my long-time role as editorial board member of California Litigation, the official journal of the California State Bar Association. I also have private-sector experience as vice president and associate general counsel of PrimeCare International, which owned and operated medical groups and facilities in three states. Equally important, I learned a great deal from two years spent living in Brazil and I value my community involvement, including scouting and youth activity programs.
