A little bit about myself ~ I am currently an exploration geologist within the generative team, exploring in the Northern Territory and Western Australia across Newmont Australia's exploration leases.In 2020, my exploration role was at the Boddington Gold Mine WA, followed by underground drilling at Tanami in 2021. In 2022, I secured a role as the production geologist for the DBS underground mine at Tanami until the beginning of 2023.Since then I have experience in managing drilling programs, logging orogenic and porphyry gold deposit styles, pit mapping, grade reconciliation, QAQC, ore characterisation, underground stope development, as well as utilising Leapfrog, Vulcan, Minesight, Aquire and Visualogger packages.My role this year as an Exploration Geologist, focuses on generating world class exploration targets in the Northern Territory from geochemical vectoring techniques, structural mapping and regional geophysics.I have completed a bachelor in Earth Science (Geology) with minors in Industrial Chemistry and the Geology Extension at the Queensland University of Technology. As part of my degree, I analysed chemical data sets associated with gold exploration in Western Australia, interpreted seismic surveys for oil and gas exploration in the Roebuck Basin and mapped in the Flinders Ranges. I held volunteer positions with the AusIMM’s Southern Queensland Student Chapter and QUT Natural Resources Society during my final year of my Bachelor degree.From 2018-2019, I held a full-time position as a higher degree research student in QUT's Masters program. My research task consisted of a month long exploration season on the south coast of NSW. Mapping and sampling allowed geochemical and geochronological analysis via LA-ICP-MS and XRF techniques to recontruct a paleo-basin geological history of the Comerong Volcanic Complex. During my candidature, I was accepted into the 2018 NExUS program run by Dr Richard Lilly and Dr Graham Heinson in conjunction with the Minerals Council of Australia. The program provided training in modern exploration techniques for locating mineral deposits under cover. The opportunity to attend the NExUS program has developed me as a geologist considerably. My passion has always been in hands-on work and have always been interested in geochemistry and the processes associated with mineralogy. I have a keen interest in the exploration and mining of IOCG and structurally hosted metal deposits. I pride myself as being excellent in group work and enjoy opportunities to network with people within the industry.
