Based just outside of Oxford, we are a group of content and technology experts with many years of experience working in the publishing industry and a passion for anything related to AI, XML, content enrichment, and content management. I provide strategic technical direction to improve our products. I work closely with our development team to make sure that our solutions are based on sound technical principles and that our products are up to date with the latest technology innovations.

I am the primary technical point of contact for our clients and form a bridge between clients, product management and engineering. Working closely with clients and several internal teams I am responsible for steering the technical development of new client solutions and our core platforms.Responsibilities• Work closely with clients to developer their business requirements into implementable pieces of work• Evaluate and prototype new services and API’s that might be used for client and platform implementations.• Provide support, prototypes and technical presence throughout the RFP process• Produce technical specifications that can be understood and developed by the engineering team.• Work with the engineering team to accurately estimate work and clearly communicate the costs associated with this to the client in statements of work.• Identify new extensions to our core platform and work with the product management team to evaluate and develop these into enhancements to our offering.

I am responsible for the design, build and deployment of online publishing platforms for leading academic publishers. Within the team I have a focus on adding value to publishers content through semantic modelling of content metadata and integration of enrichment processes.Responsibilities• Develop content pipelines that transform publishing content between standard publishing formats and semantic databases (Key areas of expertise include XML, RDF, XSL, XPATH, HTML).• Integration of third party content enrichment services to add semantic data to publishing content.• End to End Development of non-standard functionality for individual customers in core platform technologies. (Java, JSP, Spring, Struts).• Liaison with client publishers to gather requirements and provide technical support.

I am responsible for creation of new systems and workflows for content-focused technology initiatives. My team provides technical consultancy for over 1500 journal products; working with internal colleagues, customers and vendors.Responsibilities• Manage a global team of technical content experts (Key areas of expertise include XML, XSL, XPATH, HTML, CSS, SQL)• Gather requirements for new products and workflows • Participate in the design, development and implementation of new systems• Develop corporation-wide standards for our content• Liaise with client societies gathering technical requirements and developing solutions • Visit vendors to implement new systems and standards, and audit processes

I provided support and development for 1500+ journals and other products.
