A continuation of my previous role – I was moved into this new team after a University wide restructure. The key change in this role was the need for developmental focus on bringing Customer Insights into our existing D365 solution for our Marketing teams. Although an external company was brought into focus on much of the initial development, I worked directly with users and the external agency and to help gather requirements and build out new customer journeys for the users to assist with their day-to-day work.Working through support tickets independently to resolve issues raised during this initial phase of development has helped to keep the project moving forward and meet project deadlines.

After working as a test analyst in the Cooperate Project Management Office (CPMO) and working very heavily with the internal development of the CRM Dynamics 365 program, I was internally promoted to work within the Enterprise Systems (ES) team. Whereas my previous role was to provide firsthand and online support to users and test system developments, I am now more heavily focused on system development for D365 and implementing any improvements that users request through the Business Enhancement Releases (BER). Working directly with users to gather and understand their requirements and then fulfill these to suit the business and user needs including building new business processes, tables, workflows, dashboards and forms etc. to enable them to continue working at the highest level required.Now working in the Enterprise Systems team, I play a key part in issues resolution across not only D365 but a few of the internal Solent apps. Users will raise support tickets for these issues to be worked through, however, users will occasionally direct contact via teams or email. A key aspect of this is not only investigating and resolving the issue, but keeping the users informed of the progress and the resolution itself.

After working with the senior business analyst on a funding-based project within the funding support team, I was given an opportunity to complete testing on some early developments of our CRM system – CRM 2016. After showing my initiative for picking up new technologies and providing support and training to new and existing users, across a variety of competencies and backgrounds, I was awarded a permanent full-time role.One of many key aspects to this role was providing user support over phone, remote over teams or direct user support and trainingin either a 1:1 or group setting. Group training tended to be introductory to teams that were new to the system and provided an overall insight into the functionality of the system and their business unit or teams area. This has continued throughout my next few roles.Continuing to develop my skills whilst working within the CRM projects team, I branched out to work on providing user support and testing on a number of projects across the university including the university wide Windows 10 roll-out, testing and implementing a new Leisure Management System for the new university gym and also completing testing, training and user support for the new apprentice system, Inplace, during lockdown. Working on numerous projects, sometimes with overlapping deadlines, meant that I had to manage my workload effectively to be able to ensure project deadlines were met.Another key aspect of this hybrid role is to create reports from D365 (using Reports and Advanced Find) to key stakeholders within the university to drive forward business processes and enable decisions to be made based on the data captured within the system.

Branching out to work in a more technical advice role providing support to students for both funding and also visa/ international advice. This was second line support dealing with students mostly on a 1:1 basis, however part of the role was to organize the international induction held at the start of the academic year. The organisation of this induction event included hiring, training and supervising around 20-30 student guides who would help provide guidance to newly arriving international students. Giving clear and concise advice and instructions to the student guides was key and incredibly important, as we tended to welcome around 250 new international students starting their University Journey. The event lasted over 3 days including talks from various members of staff and external speakers and numerous social events to help induct new students and ensure they were welcomed to the university.
