Foreign Service Assignment in Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Nissan do Brasil Automóveis, Ltda.)Consolidated the income statement for Nissan of Brazil encompassing all manufacturing, marketing & sales and support operations. Aligned financial reporting with accounting to ensure accurate reflection of company financials in the ledger. Presented monthly performance to executive management in Brazil, Japan and the United States. Consulted with top executives in the region to optimize internal transfer pricing decisions while minimizing exposure to importation duties and unnecessary negative impact to cash flow. Took the initiative to kick off and lead an effort for the development of a 5 year mid-term plan used to evaluate the long-term viability of the business. Additional responsibility assumed as G&A Controller with responsibility over a USD $70 million annual budget.

Coordinated financial oversight for $15B annual material cost purchase for vehicles produced in the USA. Audited performance reporting for Purchasing’s material cost reduction efforts. Additional responsibility as a member of the Nissan Supplier Recovery Group, a cross-functional team with direct access to the region’s senior executive team charged with emergency contingency planning for any supply disruption risk to manufacturing operations.

Consolidated the budget, forecast, reporting and analysis to support profit impact decision making for the Nissan Vehicle Division in the United States. Maintained the profit and loss statement for the division with over $25 billion in revenue and $2.5 billion in consolidated operating profit contribution. Controller over the division’s chart of accounts including all revenue, cost of goods sold, and fixed and variable expenses.

Expanded budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis for the Fleet/LCV business unit in the United States. Promoted Nissan’s first ever profit & loss statement for the fleet business adding bottom line visibility to the business where previously it was buried in the vehicle divisions’ financials. Ensured cross-functional coordination of financial data, and assured that financial data reported to management in the USA and Japan was timely and accurate.

Coordinated and consolidated annual expense budget, monthly forecasts and variance reporting for Nissan/Infiniti Divisions’ Fleet Operations ($300M+ annual incentives). Constructed the first full P&L statement for the fleet business. Supported newly established financial reporting line to the Light Commercial Vehicle Business Unit in Japan as operations launched in the United States

Veritas Federal Credit Union is a federally chartered and insured independent financial institution serving Nissan employees, suppliers and family members in North America. Presently, we serve nearly 6,500 members throughout North America. Board responsibilities primarily support the credit union’s mission statement to offer a broad range of quality, personal financial services in response to the needs of our members. These products and services are provided in a convenient, confidential, and professional manner consistent with sound financial principals and within an environment conducive to the growth and development of our volunteers, management team and staff. Attend monthly board meetings, complete regular training and education on issues important to the credit union and its members and attend learning sessions with other members of the credit union community at large. Work with management to set strategy for technology, compensation plans, branch enhancements, product development, and marketing. In addition, the Board of Directors develops policies, oversees Veritas’ financial security, reviews executive progress in achieving goals and objectives, represents the interest of the membership, and reports to the members at the annual meeting.

Created and reconciled the Super Duty vehicle line income statement (over $30 billion in annual revenue) to the annual corporate business plan. Forecasted and budgeted for a $500 million annual parts purchase for a forward model year Super Duty truck program with a $45 million dollar capital investment.

Performed financial and operational risk-based process audits utilizing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve business process execution, risk management, and governance throughout the USA, Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil. Identified and assessed risks to company assets and activities.
