About Thomas Cummings
I am helicopter pilot based in Canada, wherever the work may be, with a keen and hungry appetite to explore. My first flying role found me on regular doctor transports from La Ronge, Saskatchewan, on the Bell 206 Jet Ranger and Long Ranger models.Following Initial Officer and Helicopter Pilot training on the Squirrel HT1 (AS350 / AStar) in the Royal Navy, I operated Vexcel UltraCam systems across Europe and N America before joining the UN Humanitarian Air Service in Nigeria on the Bell 412. I've now returned to Airborne Sensor operations on Vexcel UCE and Riegl 780i LiDAR systems, all whilst training towards my Commercial Helicopter Pilot's Licence.Highly driven and always professional, I work collectively as part of a team to achieve a common goal. Placing safety and integrity paramount, I am adaptable, reliable and keen. I bring unbridled enthusiasm to bear and I am excited to continue my next step in my aviation career.Outside of flying, my great loves are the outdoors, travel, learning new languages and experiencing a different way of life. I love to help others, with one of my happiest memories volunteering as an English teacher in Poland for my summer holidays with 11-17 year olds.Among other goals, I hope someday to combine my love of teaching with my love of flying as an instructor.
