Started here on work experience as part of the Princes Trust and had been taken on full time. My role includes advising passengers on journeys they are planning across the country. Most journeys I deal with are ones to London, I have been able to pass my knowledge of tube connections from our service stops and some London local bus services that from personal experience of using.I sell tickets for the journeys passengers require also deal with amendments for passengers that want to move service times or change end destination.Checking tickets for boarding of London services and selling cash standby tickets for Victoria and Paddington routes.

Daily administration handling incoming and outgoing post and forwarding to the relevant departments. Checking emails and responding and forwarding to departments.Inputting data for funded projects ie family learning and Princes Trust.Dealing with bookings and cancellations of the minibus and processing all information for billing before handing over to the financial department.Inputting site utility readings to spreadsheet for financial department to ensure that all utility bills are correct, also sending readings to utility companies for bill processing.Contacting local churches to put out notices for volunteers and liaising with them during the process. Designing posters to advertise for volunteers to go in local libraries and stores.

Selling and inspection of tickets and period passes ie Day Riders, MegaRider and Travel Masters.Assisting passengers with routes and local information, including events and theatres, local bus connections, also information about train connections.Event control - after football matches, concerts and other events, I would help a team by being at the nearest tram stop controlling the amount of passengers boarding a tram at any one time to ensure safe carriage of passengers. We would sell tickets for single journeys and inspect prepaid tickets.

A typical day would be to arrive at the airport a hour before the flight departure for our crew briefing in which to be allowed to operate the flight each crew member had to answer a series of security and first aid questions.We would confirm what sectors we would be flying and the timings for the flight that would be given to us by the pilots. They would also tell us any other information that may affect the flight ie weather and alternative airport for landing if needed to divert if weather was poor at the original destination.I would board the aircraft with my team and we would inspect the airport for any suspicious items and also check that everything was satisfactory ie oxygen bottles where stowed and correct and in a working order, fire extinguishers and first aid kits also satisfactory.Once all onboard checks where complete we would prepare for boarding and one crew member assist at the gate for the boarding process. I would need to check boarding passes and passports to ensure people board the correct flight and also they have the correct document for travel.After boarding was complete we would secure the aircraft for departure and do the initial safety briefing, during the flight we would be selling items from the trolley to passengers.
