The Assistant Dean for Finance, Budget and Planning serves as the chief financial officer to the School of Public Health, reports directly to the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance and serves as a key strategic advisor to the Dean and Associate Dean for Administration. This position is responsible for managing all finance and budget operations of the School, including the following functions: budgetary and financial management, financial and budget operations and planning, projections, grants oversight and overall supervision of a total of eight departmental directors of administration

Provide leadership in the areas of human resource and financial management within the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Data Analytic Center (BEDAC). The BEDAC is a new center within Boston University. Responsible for developing a business plan, methodology for including BEDAC in research proposals and the development of service center rates. Develop, implement and support an MS Access/SQL Server based system that will be used to develop proposals, track billable hours and invoice projects for faculty and staff time.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance in the School of Public Health, responsible for providing oversight of the financial management function of the school, with particular emphasis on financial operations and reporting. Set policy and procedures relating to payroll and budgetary functions. Support the Associate Dean with financial planning reports, analysis and projections for the SPH. Supervise Financial Manager whose primary function is to support payroll for the SPH. Support the Associate Dean with the development, implementation and day-to-day management of all technology systems and data-bases in the School of Public Health including interacting with the webmaster for inter/intranet applications. Create and manage efficient interaction and linkages between SPH processes and systems throughout the Medical Campus and the University. Work with Associate Dean, Directors, Department Chairs and Department Administrators to identify the information needs in SPH. Identify technology solutions to improve the processes and reporting for the SPH. Supervise 2 programmers, who develop software to support the central functions of the SPH.

Consulting projects building Access databases for clients mostly non profits.
