As a senior systems engineer, my role is requirements, design, implementation, and test analysis of spacecraft systems, ground systems, and launch systems and on occasion business development. Autonomous systems, spacecraft avionics, satellite ground terminals, and virtual infrastructure, computing, and applications are my current systems engineering focus; My activities in STEM student mentoring is my contribution to the future; and genealogy is my contribution to the past.

In addition to a systems analysis role; I have served as a local small business liaison on the NASA Mentor-Protege Program; and have coordinated and provided assistance to TASC business partners on engineering and business best practices of TASC as an engineering business leader. I have also contributed as a mentor to our local TASC college interns and NASA college and high school interns on our NASA IV&V Program.

As a mentor to college interns from WVU, I assigned systems engineering tasks and trained college students in the practices and processes related to the activities associated with the full engineering development life cycle; and provided work instructions and training on analysis tools enabling students to become valued contributors to the engineering team. Work activities that I assigned included black box testing of autonomous flight safety systems, NASA satellite flight software, and launch system propulsion controls requirements, design and implementation analysis. We discussed their professional and academic interests and I offered suggestions for continued studies in disciplines that I felt would result in career choices that would be beneficial to them

As a Sr. Systems Engineer, I was responsible for and contributed to system analysis, design, and integration on the Computer Replacement Program for the E-10A C4ISR (Joint STARS) Airborne Ground Surveillance aircraft, Global Hawk UAV, UK AWACS, GIS Graphic Underlays on Operator Workstations; designing and integrating HMI, communications, radar, and computer systems onboard the aircraft.On occasion I have contributed to proposals on UK-AWACS, SATCOM, BMC4, and in 2007 I contributed to the NASA IV&V Constellation Task Order proposal. Upon winning the Constellation proposal, I joined the NASA IV&V Program managed jointly by Northrop Grumman Information Systems and Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sectors until 2009 when NGC divested itself of TASC, Inc.; and transferred some services contracts including the NASA IV&V contract to TASC. I stayed with the contract to add UML model based engineering analysis to their capabilities and to provide technical/functional leadership to the former NGC IT IV&V analysts.

Working on the Eastern Range as an engineering contractor for the Air Force, I designed and integrated range safety systems in the Range Operations Control Center; telemetry receiving stations, tracking radar systems including the phased array radar system, weather instrumentation systems, launch operations control centers, ship board ground to air tracking systems, flight safety systems, range timing systems; basically, range modernization programs across the range instrumentation sites from Florida downrange to Antigua on the southerly azimuth and Nova Scotia on the northerly azimuth for space launches off the coast of Florida at Cape Canaveral. Established and managed Logistics Engineering Department to support Eastern Range Systems Engineering O&M activities on range instrumentation such as range tracking systems, telemetry information processing systems, weather systems, optical tracking systems, and range safety systems,

Working on the Western Range as an engineering contractor for the Air Force, I designed and integrated range instrumentation and range safety systems that monitored for spacecraft launches off the coast of California at Vandenberg, AFB. I worked on an Automatic Train Surveillance System, High Accuracy Instrumentation Radar, Radar Embedded Computer System, Telemetry Processing System, Area Control Center and Range Safety Control Center; and Command Transmitters..

As an engineering technician, I built and integrated the first embedded microprocessor technologies into the industrial process control plants in a first time ever distributed, networked embedded microprocessor control system. When it was ready to be fielded, I coordinated the integration and calibration of microwave moisture sensors, nuclear density sensors, micro-controllers, and serial communication networks for manufacturing plants throughout the country.
