Liaison for all drilling operations on CD5 pad for Alpine field on the North Slope, Alaska and responsible for planning, engineering, permitting, and execution of these wells. Most recent accomplishments:• Successfully completed the CD5-93 single-lateral injector that met technical deliverables, time, & cost objectives as defined in the AFE. • Initiated a technology study to identify and trial an improved drilling fluid system for both the surface and intermediate section of Alpine wells. This trial of potassium silicate is currently underway and has been successful thus far in meeting objectives (reducing dilutions, costs, and inhibiting clays/shales on CD5-93 & -31). • Also trialed selective under-reaming when drilling the intermediate section of CD5-93. This reduced TOOH times due to improved hole cleaning in the upper hole section without adverse effects on casing running operations.• Improved the drilling program standard for the Wells group by employing UX Mapping techniques. The CD5-93 program was selected to be showcased as a reference for document engineering within the company.• Contract lead for gyro services and worked with Supply Chain to ensure performance & contract adherence

Rotational work assignment to Doyon 25 as a field-based drilling engineer in the Alpine (WNS) field on the North Slope of Alaska. While in this role, responsible for real-time engineering support of drilling operations including torque & drag modeling, buckling & BHA analysis, and hydraulics modeling (ECD, tripping/running speeds, fluid swaps). Also performed analysis for casing running, cementing casing, and managed pressure drilling (MPD) operations. The Conoco lead for the safety leadership team (SLT) composed of all the participating companies on the rig team, which was part of the team awarded a 2020 COP Group Safety Award. Kicked-off a technology initiative for rig-team performance utilizing real-time streaming rig data to help rig crews reduce flat-time. On tour to help set the North American land records for longest well (CD5-26) and most footage drilled (CD5-98), as well as numerous other Alaska records for footage, footage-rate, and longest (production) laterals.

In this position I managed the development of engineering design packages for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), up to 18 projects concurrently at any given time located over an 800-mile distance at Pumps Stations 1, 3, 4 and the Valdez Marine Terminal (VMT). As a project engineer, was responsible for contractor onboarding, contract stewardship, and assisted in developing contract revisions and vendor performance management. As such, I managed multiple contractors responsible for delivering solutions that met technical scope requirements, budgetary constraints, challenging schedules, and quality standards. Beyond typical project engineer duties, it was also expected in this role to facilitate design and constructability reviews to ensure stakeholder needs were met, and to lead certain integration management functions such as oversight of project execution and change control processes, as well as ultimate project handover and close out.

Regularly developed and distributed post-job reports focused on tool performance and service quality. As a lead, was responsible for field staff training in directional and FE systems, evaluating relevant competencies, and job performance standards (operational effectiveness and HSE policy adherence). Worked in the Real-time Operations Center (ROC) to provide guidance and trouble-shooting assistance to Rockies land rigs. At times led advanced product roll-outs (software and hardware upgrades), documentation distribution, and customer in-the-loop feedback to Corporate. On a special project, led multiple site teams and responsible for system introduction (EM system upgrade). Also assisted the Business Development group in transforming customer requirements in bid contracts to “best fit” solutions with FE system and personnel recommendations for key customers in the Rockies district.

Vehicle Dynamics Branch, Flight Safety Program (AvSP)While researching at NASA-LaRC, developed a 6 (six) degree-of-freedom MATLAB/Aviator Visual Design Simulator (AVDS) simulation representative of a Generic Transport Model (GTM), i.e. Boeing 757-200. With this model created then performed flying quality studies, handling quality studies, and other simulation experiments for the GTM unmanned air vehicle (UAV) that were validated through follow-on flight tests. Also participated in various wind tunnel experiments, and subsequent static & dynamic data analysis, in order to build the non-linear aeromodel for the GTM.
