Responsible for delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring all work is performed according to D.O.T., O.S.H.A., and El Paso regulations and policies, for a three member crew. Appointed chairman of the Hamburg Area Safety Unit. My purpose was to develop and implement innovative and progressive safety initiatives for an operating area consisting of twenty-five employees.• Recognized by management as a safety leader by having been involved in several safety roundtables. The efforts of these meetings have produced the “FOCUS and STOP” and the forthcoming “It’s not a Gotcha; It’s an I Got Your Back” programs.• Created numerous PowerPoint presentations, safety recommendations, work procedures, and safety inspections which were well organized on SharePoint.• Created agendas, scheduled meetings, and communicated results for the Safety Unit. Utilized SharePoint to document all safety unit activities.• Participated in several incident reviews; analyzed data, identified problems, and offered solutions. • Collaborated with the Division Safety Representative to develop a pre-post job checklist in an effort to raise safety awareness and to develop a process improvement program.• Worked as a liaison between Area Management and employees to help build trust, respect, and ownership in our safety program.• Created a safer workplace, team atmosphere, and a winning safety culture by consistently seeking advice and input from other employees.
