My experience has taught me that trying to better understand how others might view a given situation, makes it easier to gauge what solution would work best! Just looking at an application from a sales viewpoint rarely touches on all the necessary details. By demonstrating empathy, I have been able to better understand the challenges of engineers, contractors, distributors, integrators and end-users in the design and implementation of products in a variety of projects. Markets that include security camera surveillance, access control, telecommunications, wireless networks and electrical power distribution (low voltage) and renewable energy solutions. I strive to always make it my business to better understand your business. As a result, I've managed to gain a lot of specific knowledge from many different industry experts I've interacted with over the years. Experienced professionals have taught me to easily recognize most of the problematic variables in system designs, layouts and installations. The same holds true for my current industry. Perhaps this problem solving approach to sales is not the recommended means to meet quotas today, but I have found it builds relationships that last long past tomorrow. From my perspective, in today's business world, relationship building is more important than it ever has been. Once you realize it reinforces trusted alliances and attracts fewer fly-by-night opportunists, it's not just a good approach, but a great strategy.
