Within FloWave TT I am responsible for managing the delivery of the company's engineering, technical and scientific activities. FloWave operates a highly advanced combined current and wave test facility. The company serves both the academic and commercial marine engineering sectors and the resulting project load is varied and complex. In particular we work towards de-risking marine energy technologies prior to full-scale deployment at sea.

Within the ETP I worked on improving the links between academia and Scottish SMEs by providing technical support for small projects and enquiries relating to the marine energy sector.

Working as part of the EU FP7 funded EquiMar project I contributed towards the production of a suite of protocols to support the marine energy industry. My primary responsibility was to produce, in conjunction with international partners, guidance and best practice of the estimation of energy resource to inform device developers, investors and other parties. The project aims and outcomes were presented to stakeholders at events including the Global Marine Renewable Energy Conference 2011 (Washington D.C.), the International Conference on Ocean Energy 2010 (Bilbao) and the International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering 2010 (Shanghai).During this time I also supported tank testing activities with the School of Engineering, continuing to hone the skills I had developing during my PhD.
