PhD thesis in numerical modelling of non-linear phenomena in composite materials subjected to high temperatures. The objective is to establish scenarios to describe the degradation mechanisms at the composite fibre scale in order to predict material failure. Mechanisms such as crack initiation and propagation or creep are studied. For this purpose, Abaqus software coupled with Python or Fortran subroutines are used.

Since the microstructures of ceramic matrix composites are very complex to describe by conventional finite element methods, the use of a generalized finite element method (GFEM) is envisaged. This approach consists in enriching the global mesh of the structure with pre-calculated elementary patterns. A certain number of patterns describing the microstructure is currently known, the objective is to create new patterns taking into account the cracking between the fibres of the composite.

Improvement of an innovative radiology table control prototype at DMS Apelem. Use of calculation tools (Matlab), modeling tools (Catia) and equipment (machine tools, foundry...) provided by the ENS to optimize the performance of the system and make it completely reliable.

Development of an innovative control for radiology table. The aim is to design a handle that determines the effort that the radiologist applies to it and its direction in order to be able to move the table on which the patient is installed in the 3 directions of space. The effort to be applied to the handle must be minimal but allows the motors to be controlled to move a system weighing close to one ton. Skills implemented: -SolidWorks simulations in order to dimension the handle (material, geometry) -Electronics (theory to realization) -Programming in C (system automation) -Solicitation of manufacturers to obtain information, quotations and samples -Realization of a test bench and comparison theory/practice. Objective reached: the prototype allows to move the radiology table, the handling is easy and the sensations of use correspond to what is expected by the company.
