Founded in New York City in 2007 by Belgian native Thomas DeGeest & his partner Rossanna Figuera, the company revolutionized the food-truck industry by introducing a world-class, full branded mobile concept to the NYC market. Since, the brand has expanded to brick & mortar stores and kiosks, and can now be found in the most iconic locations in New York City, Denver and Minneapolis. With a disciplined and selective approach, the concept started franchising in late 2022, targeting primarily premium locations in high traffic, touristic locations. Wafels & Dinges stands out by its uncompromising approach to authentic craftsmanship, quality and artisanal techniques. No corners are cut in staff training, equipment or ingredient selection. In addition, the company is well known for its sophisticated design capabilities for both packaging and store locations. The designs are often inspired by the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, and feature as main colors a warm yellow and dark brown / black. These are the same colors that can be found in the Belgian and Flemish flag, and (maybe not) coincidentally in the yellow of the once iconic NYC yellow-cabs.
