During tenure, defined growth strategies, built and developed the team, and oversaw new business development, selling all bank products across the client base. Liaison with product groups and regions; matrix management of analyst pool.  Grew portfolio of 15 Fortune 1000 client relationships and prospects; revenues increased 14% in 2018 ($30MM), with a focus on capital markets revenue, despite exiting or transferring many non-core relationships.  Drove new client growth by developing strategic plans that outlined calling philosophy, prospect profiles, ratings, geographic overlap and maturity dates of existing credit facilities.  Implemented strategy that led to the addition of 14 new clients in the mid-corporate space ($1Bn-$5Bn in revenue) and over $20MM in incremental annual revenue, through cross-sell of the bank’s products.  Cross-sell activities produced favorable revenue mix with a 50% - 50% split between credit product income and other fee-based income including capital markets business.

Recruited by founder of Traxi, an advisory firm focused on corporate restructuring, to expand banking services to middle market companies and Private Equity groups.  Grew banking revenue 100% in one year by leveraging network of relationships within the private equity and legal communities.  Led team of calling officers. Standardized and optimized the team’s calling efforts by implementing new prospecting techniques, billing and CRM systems.

Recruited as the first executive hire by the founder of Business Services Coverage team. Together with team head, built a profitable investment banking platform, which delivered $50 million in annual fee and NII revenue. Managed client relationships. Led team of 10-12 vice presidents, associates and analysts.  Drove new business development, identifying prospects ranging from pre-IPO emerging growth companies to Fortune 1000 with a focus on the upper end of the middle market. Led deal teams in the execution of capital markets and balance sheet transactions (debt and equity) as well as M&A advisory services.  Identified strategic and capital-raising alternatives; developed customized capital structure solutions such acquisition financing for an IT services company that used a combination of mezzanine and equity, with BMO as the lead left bank on the secondary offering.

Promoted to Vice President after progression from Credit Management officer to Investment Banking Analyst / Associate.  Founding member of First Union / Wachovia’s Corporate Finance Group in 1995.
