Technical Officer
CurrentBegan working at SAS Laboratory in an Assistant Technical Officer Role, working primarily in the Nutrients, Microbiology, Metals, and General Chemistry sections of the lab. Developed great skills with the sample preparation of water, biosolid, and soil samples from various clients including Trade Wastes, Influents and Effluents from STP's, Biosolids, Sludges, and Soils, and Drinking Water samples for all sections. This preparation includes for testing nutrients, chloride, and chromium VI via FIA, various metals via ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and Direct Mercury Analyser, and preparation of agar plates, colilerts, and filtration plates in the Microbiology Section. Also learned complete analysis including preparation, testing, and reporting for the measuring of Total Organic Carbon, UV-Transmittance, Colour, Turbidity, and Free and Total Chlorine, with strict adherence to both the SAS Laboratory’s In-House Methodology and Quality Assurance and Control procedures, as per the Laboratory’s NATA Accreditation guidelines. Furthermore, have also learned how to accurately prepare reagents, standard solutions, calibration standards, and media in these sections of the laboratory, as well as learned equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures.
