Duties:Estimating:• Inspecting and identifying requirements relating to major loss domestic, commercial and industrial insurance claims• Carrying out site inspections on instructions, comprehensive reporting and policy determination• Identifying insurable repairs, maintenance issues and building defects• Preparing a scope of works on insurable repairs for the client or tendering on predefined scopes of works/engineering• Understanding each client’s contractual arrangements, fully utilising agreements to gain the maximum profit margin obtainable for the company• Major Loss Estimating – Submission of large tenders to clients on complex losses (high percentage of approval/authority to proceed obtained on these major losses).Supervision –• Consultation with customers/sub-contractors/engineers, setting out an agreeable and realistic programme of works• Preparing contract documents for trade partners/sub-contractors• Job preliminaries – OH&S requirements, risk/hazard analysis, JSA preparation, tool box meetings• Supervision/tracking of programme – constant interaction with the customer, client and sub-contractors to ensure issues are resolved, works are being carried out in accordance with Australian standards and BCA • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance to engineering specifications when supplied• Variations – Submitting variation requests and amounts to the client in accordance with client’s contractual terms and conditions• Cost control and account management• Completing a quality control site assessment and sign off on completion of the works. Ensuring proper final account preparation• Building and maintaining good client relationships

Duties: Estimating: • Receiving instructions from clients and identifying requirements – domestic, commercial and contract works claims• Meeting new customers, carrying out site inspections and establishing the circumstances/cause surrounding the loss• Identifying insurable repairs, maintenance issues and building defects• Preparing a scope of works on insurable repairs for the client or preparing a costing only on a pre-defined scope of works• Interpreting the policy wording, providing a comprehensive report to the client, when required, to assist in the client making a decision on policy liability• Providing an estimated cost of repairs in accordance with contractual arrangements • Understanding each client’s contractual arrangements, fully utilizing agreements to gain the maximum profit margin obtainable for the company• Major Loss Estimating – Submission of large tenders to clients on complex losses (high percentage of approval/authority to proceed obtained on these large losses)Supervision –• Fully understanding authority to proceed instructions from clients and sending out contractual documents to the customers• Preparing tender documents for trade partners (sub-contractors) to respond• Procurement of the works to either individual sub-contractors or a single main contractor (Job dependent)• Supervision of the works – constant interaction with the customer, client and sub-contractors to ensure issues are resolved, and a successful job outcome• Variations – Submitting variation requests and amounts to the client in accordance with client’s contractual terms and conditions• Cost control and account management• Completing a quality control site assessment and sign off on completion of the works and ensuring proper client invoicing

Duties:• Providing a first-class claims management service both to the Insurer and the Policyholder on commercial, residential and liability property claims• Conducting detailed on-site meetings with customers, clients and builders where complete factual investigations are noted in preparation to providing a complete and detailed report to the Insurer outlining and clarifying circumstances surround the loss and cause• Determining policy liability by understanding and interpretation of the applicable policy’s wording• Determining appropriate reserves and developing procurement methods to mitigate the Insured’s loss• Verifying the loss/damage, quantifying the work of reinstatement and preparing scopes of works for contractors to tender upon• Identifying and pursuing avenues for salvage or recovery • Ensuring that Insurer’s strict service standards are being maintained• Negotiating settlement proposals which are both acceptable to the Insurer and the Insured• Monitoring reinstatement works and resolving any issues which may arise during this period to the satisfaction of all parties concerned
