A support and audit role to ensure the business remains compliant in its responsibilities regarding Health & Safety, the Environment and Quality Control.This position has a wide range of roles and functions which include supporting various site activities including product and process testing, NVQ assessment, site inspections for H&S and Environment performance and compliance to UKAS accreditation.

Responsible for the specialist sampling and testing of materials, in accordance with laboratory procedures; complying with UKAS standards as applicable. The completion of construction quality assurance geotechnical duties and undertaking the duties of the senior technician as required. Specific Responsibilities: Soils: PSD determinations, including sedimentation / moisture content. Dry density/compaction curves. CBR testing on as-dug/reconstituted fill (or below carriageway; using Dynamic Cone Penetrometer). In-situ plate bearing capacity testing & logging of trail pits.Aggregates: PSD determinations, including flakiness index / moisture content.Concrete: Core sampling / preparation / testing / interpretation and reporting. Cube making / testing (BS & BSEN Standard). Half-cell / resistivity / cover meter / de-lamination surveys and chloride content on existing structures.Road Salt: PSD determination / Calibration of mobile gritting operations.Bituminous materials: Taking and logging of bituminous carriageway cores. Logging / densities / air voids for NRASWA cores. Calibration of surface dressing tankers / chippers.Construction Quality Assurance on new Landfill Cells (CQA). Monitoring of landfill cell construction including record keeping / testing of compaction of clay liner material using nuclear density gauge. Sampling of geo-synthetic lining materials for off-site specialist testing.
