• As Signal & Control Principal Sponsor for London Underground I have a portfolio of 10 projects at varying points in their lifecycle, which have the aim of life extending legacy signalling assets across the network.• It is my responsibility to ensure that my projects follow governance controls and are in a ‘fit state’ to pass pathway stages with all the required deliverables complete.• I have written authority papers and business case narratives to justify the project funds required for the next stage of works. This has required me to have an accomplished writing technique along with financial appraisal skills to understand the best whole life value solution. A clear line of sight and understanding of wider TfL strategy and objectives has also been crucial.• I have experience in creating project requirements to clearly define the scope of works and developing Benefits Management Plans to track benefits identified and quantified in the business case.• Developing positive working relationships with a variety of different teams has been essential to my role to provide effective sponsorship. This includes collaboration with colleagues in Asset Management, Assurance, Maintenance & Operations and Capital Programmes Directorate. This has proved important when considering the viewpoint and needs of stakeholders and ultimately influencing the direction of the project. • Throughout the Business Planning process I am actively involved in helping identify potential savings and reforecasting the unapproved budget to ease financial pressures in specific years.

• My previous role was to support the Asset Management of Track Systems and Civil assets for London Underground.• Shortly after joining the team I took the sole responsibility for Track Drainage Asset Management which involved advancing the drainage strategy and the end-to-end process of creating an optimised capital works programme. • I used the principles of Whole Life Costing to develop a 10 year drainage renewals programme that provides value for money as well as performance and safety benefits to London Underground. This looked at the optimal mix of cost, risk and performance.• I had to consider budget constraints to prioritise and balance the programme while also identifying opportunities, for example with Track Renewals to safeguard the benefits case of Track assets.• I built constructive working relationships with Asset Sponsors, Engineering, Renewals Delivery and Maintenance to implement changes and produce a robust programme of work. • I also carried out in depth analysis of the Automated Track Monitoring System (ATMS), currently being delivered over a number of lines, to reinforce benefits realisation for the project.

• I was responsible for planning and managing wastewater infrastructure/non-infrastructure investment needs (current & future) for a specific geographical area. • The job required me to develop strong working relationships with operational staff and other supporting teams in Asset Management to identify, progress and solve a compelling investment need. • Key activities include leading root cause analysis workshops, reviewing and challenging possible solutions and building a business case to secure funding for capital projects. • I also constructed responses to internal and external enquiries and attended meetings with external stakeholders on site.

• The job required me to manage contractors effectively to deliver surface water outfall projects within the timescales set. This meant meeting on site to monitor progress and assisting with survey work when necessary. • Building a relationship of trust and liaising with the Environment Agency was essential. Working with Local Authorities and gaining their support for enforcement action was also necessary.
