Mr. Donahue served as QA/QC Manager for Bohler Engineering’s offices in Boca Raton and Tampa, FL. He was fully responsible for internal Quality Assurance/Quality Control aspects during the project design and construction process to ensure designs meet all local, state and federal compliance, and internal Quality Control processes. His responsibilities includd development and maintenance of QA/QC procedures including Quality Checklists for design and CAD; reviewing all site design plans for constructability, value engineering, and professional liability during design and prior to issuance for construction to provide clear, comprehensive and construction ready drawings; and assisting the design team in support of Construction Administration services for design projects. Mr. Donahue also developed and facilitated in-house training programs pertaining to design skills for engineering staff development, and acted as a resource and mentor to design staff during the preparation of engineering designs for overall site layout, accessibility standards, grading, stormwater drainage and control, sanitary sewers, utilities and construction details. Bohler Engineering provides civil and consulting engineering services from 22 offices throughout the Eastern United States. Served as Manager of Engineering for a staff of up to 20 engineers, planners, landscape architects, and CAD personnel with overall department responsibility including personnel and administration; marketing and business development; development of project scope of work; contract negotiations; budgets; scheduling; quality control; training; presentations; oversight of resident inspectors and surveyors; review and processing of contractor’s pay requests; funding reimbursement; and client contact. Responsible for project management, technical supervision and quality control of design and permitting for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, review of traffic studies and parking studies, liaison between City, County and State staff for projects approval. As District Engineer to Sunshine Water Control District in Coral Springs, FL, provided consulting services to assist in the control and management of surface water. SWCD is a special-purpose local government comprised of 9 square miles and 22 miles of canals. Responsibilities included the management of capital improvement projects; review of stormwater applications for compliance with the SWCD criteria manual; review and updates to the SWCD Master Plan; preparation of estimates of design capacity and costs of facilities; pump station design, canal restoration and culvert replacement programs; hydraulic studies and hydraulic modeling; review of existing and proposed stormwater collection systems and their impacts on stormwater runoff; preparation of reclamation plans; and identification and monitoring within the watershed.
