Re-tasked after reorganization of the Program Area in December 2011• Main emphasis was shifted to working independently on the design of complex, large-scale, in-house hydraulic design projects• Secondary emphasis was divided between:+ Providing technical support for GEOPAK Drainage, the associated VBA/Macro applications and support sections in the VDOT CADD Manual, including incorporation of Storm Sewer Profiles in the Project Plan Assembly+ Continuing to serve as the technical authority and resource on all Policy & Procedure matters involving hydraulics/drainage+ Handling all drainage related issues on construction projects

• Served as the Responsible Charge Engineer for all VDOT internally designed projects+ Accountable for QA/QC of section staff engineers work and the signing/sealing of plans• Managed and provided daily oversight for a design team staff of 4 – 5 engineers• Daily correspondence/interaction with roadway section managers, District PMs, and outside consultants, including management/interaction on 25-30 design projects and 10+ construction projects+ Serving as liaison for all construction related issues• Developed Scope & Man-hour Cost Estimates and Schedules for all projects+ Responsible for entry and maintenance of Scope & Man-hour Cost Estimate data into the L&D Project Database, for all internal projects+ Review of section staff engineers labor time charges to projects in L&D Project Database to ensure that budgets were not exceeded and schedules were maintained• Worked directly on the design of complex, large-scale design projects• Served as the technical authority and resource on all Policy & Procedure matters involving hydraulics/drainage• Developed and created instructional/learning opportunities for section staff engineers.• Led development efforts in the introduction of Storm Sewer Profiles into the Project Plan Assembly, utilizing GEOPAK Drainage• Developed numerous spreadsheets/procedures which help streamline the drainage design workflow process+ Procedure and spreadsheet application for geo-referencing imported USGS Topographic maps into Microstation V8i for creating drainage area mapping; also applicable to SWPPP Plan Sheet mapping+ Hydraulic Scope & Man-hour Cost Estimating spreadsheet (HSME) used on all internal projects+ Preliminary SWM Basin sizing spreadsheet which incorporates the factors of sizing for both Temporary Sediment Basin and Critical Storm Duration, in addition to traditional storage volume estimating methods+ Procedure for scheduling of internal Drainage Design projects utilizing Microsoft Project 2003/2007 software
