Duties include management and overseeing the team of geologists within the exploration section responsible for planning and control of horizontal exploration drilling from up to 6 drilling platforms totalling over 100,000m of cored borehole per annum.Supervision and control of Strategic salt roadway/drive development for access to reserves, bunker development and formation of drill bay positions. Overseeing the sampling and compositing of results into usable data on the grade and thickness of ore minerals from drilling into a reserves database. Management, repair and upgrade (coding) of the geological and drilling databases for the Geology department, this includes output of data to Modelling packages such as Datamine Studio Rm and integration with seismic data.I am also responsible for the introduction and successful application and on going health and safety management of two portable hand held XRF units for designation of ore types and constituents within the new Polysulphate mining horizon.Other duties include management and planning of annual budgets for the geology department, technical assessment and reporting on planned mining developments, purchasing and accounting for the department via SAP. Generation and reporting of royalties in conjunction with the Survey department.Liaison and assistance with the Boulby Underground Science Laboratory for various projects associated with Astrobiology and the development of rover instrumentation for ESA and NASA mission schedules.
