Following my first contact with the Army re-enlisted but reclassed into a Intelligence Analyst role. In this role would continue to develop skills I was introduced to as a CoIST member and leader. Graduated commandant’s list from Basic Leader Course, being an expert and leader in the classroom with my experiences. In addition to training also have both informal and formal leadership experiences such as assisting new soldiers as they process into the unit to formal leadership positions such as team and squad leader.

Enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17 conducting Initial Entry Training between my Junior and Senior years of high school. Following my senior year of high school would conduct my advance individual training to become a Combat Engineer. In addition to learning basic skills such as rifle marksmanship, tactical combat casualty care, drill and ceremony being a Combat Engineer trained in conducting combat missions such as constructing bridges, creating and destroying barriers, explosives, and mine detection, avoidance and clearance. Would spend May through October of 2010 training to get certified to mobilize in support of combat operations.Operation Enduring Freedom - Kandahar and Helmand province Afghanistan - 2010 through 2011Due to high attention to detail, intelligence and computer know-how was pulled into the tactical operations center (TOC) in a route clearance company. During my time in Afghanistan, I would take lead in the Company Intelligence Support Team (CoIST). Within this role I would work between higher echelon command the route clearance patrols ensuring higher headquarters had up to date information on the battlefield and ensure the route clearance patrols know up to date intelligence of the area. In addition, I would network across internal forces such as the Afghans, Canadians, British, Australian, and Polish to get intelligence directly from their forces. I would analyze historical significant activity, man-made and geographical obstacles as well as human intention to accurately assess and predict the situation on the battlefield. In addition to operating and leading the CoIST cell would assist in operations. I would assist in planning, coordinating conducting operations across many battle space owners to include other branches and multi-national forces. Post Afghanistan would continue maintaining soldier skills as well as developing new soldiers within a reserve capacity.

In this role I switched form a predominantly client facing experience to using systems knowledge in configuring, consulting, and providing insight into the agency management system (AMS). I conducted training within employee benefits and sought out learning experiences to gather a better understanding of other insurance offerings. I became an expert in Applied Epic, providing consulting in what the system is, and is not capable of doing. In addition, continue to configure the system to ensure it is meeting the needs of the business. I handle report requests, using a working knowledge of the system and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to provide the requested report quickly and accurately. I review business processes looking for avenues to use technology or upgrades within the AMS to deliver better solutions for the client service representative and customers alike. Quarter 4 of 2022 through Quarter 1 of 2023 worked on a merger and acquisition working to move data from one AMS to the M3 AMS of Applied Epic.

At M3 Insurance switched the insurance focus from carrier and claim handling to independent agency work. Worked on a franchise within the construction and real estate industry vertical. In this role would expand insurance coverages from automobile and other personal lines coverage to all aspects in the commercial policies. I was and still maintain a Wisconsin Agent License. Would review recently bound or renewed policies to ensure the policy matched the quote, proposal and had no gaps in coverage. I would conduct contract review for the contractor clients and provide certificates of insurance that were generally required to get onto bid for work, get onto job sites or collect payment. In addition would assist clients with normal day to day operations with respect to the normal life cycle of a policy such as filing endorsements, assisting with next steps for claims and providing other documentation needed related to insurance. Worked closely with the franchise account manager and executive allowing for trust to be placed in my abilities, knowledge and intentions to ensure clients received world class attention.

In this role would conduct cradle to grave claim handing for the physical damages of the Amazon delivery services automobile policies across all continental US states. I would conduct the investigation to the facts of loss with all parties involve, in addition to using other resources like policy reports and physical damages to determine liability. Review state statutes to determine the next course and action and ensure the claim handling process met that state's legal standard. During the investigation period would also need to review the facts of loss with the insurance policy to make a coverage determination. I would monitor the repair process for vehicles determined repairable in respect to reviewing and approving repair estimates and ensuring both claimants and insureds alike had a rental vehicle that met state and policy legal standings to provide. If a vehicle was determined a total loss, work with parties to determine if they wanted to retain or surrender the vehicle and negotiate and settle the value of the vehicle for payment. For claims with injury I would conduct early settlement offers, if needed would assist the bodily injury adjustor with facts of loss and fact gathering. Develop key relationships with; carrier partners, Amazon personnel, fleet managers of large multi state contractors. In addition to handling the claim workload would also assist with training new team members. This training would include preparing for licensing tests to using the claim system to how to handle certain situations.In this role would study for and pass three state adjustors exams (North Carolina, Arizona and New York) and be an licensed adjustor in a majority of the 48 continental states.

During a time when the call center was overstaffed and other departments needed assistance was 1 of 4 selected to assist in Special Investigation Unit (SIU) operations. During this time worked with two senior insurance professionals who expanded my knowledge and skill set on the insurance process from binding through claims and coverage. Conducted professional growth through the National Insurance Crime Bureau training and curriculum. Would review claims flagged for fraudulent indicators to review the details of the claim to determine if a claim needed to be investigated for fraud. Discuss claim facts and indicators with adjustors who inquired about their claim that did not get flagged for review when questions arose. Assisted investigators with preliminary investigations with reports from claim, insurance and data mining sources. Provide departments of justice (DOJ) with claim notes, documents and photos for situations the DOJ was pursing legal action. Used knowledge in GIS, Microsoft and Google products to bring continuous improvement to the SIU team.

Within this role was the start to an insurance career. Worked in the call center from the late morning to early evening hours. I developed an understanding of personal automobile insurance and how to read coverages and answer general inquiries. Handle calls in a quick, efficient and professional manner. Assist callers in: Filing a claim with a first notice of lossAssisted insureds when they needed road side assistance due to accident or break downCheck on status of claimsRoute calls to other departments like rental, physical damage assessors, or claim handlersBilling questionsVarious other aspects of insurance operationsIn addition I would handle simple claims such as rear-end, or hit while parked. I would utilize technology to best address the claim with the respective claimant or insured. I would assist co-workers with questions on how to route calls, handle a situation or where to search to find information on a inquiry.

Worked as a crew member on a small locally owned, top rated urban forestry service. On Jobsites would ensure the safety of the site for crew members, to include ground crew and climbers as well as the public. Use critical thinking to ensure the safe and efficient work done to the tree, whether removal or pruning. Operate the machinery needed to preform the job. Enthusiastically explain the job to the public to include climbing, rigging, knots, cutting techniques or general knowledge on the tree or shrubsOff Jobsite conduct continues preventative maintenance checks and services to machinery, to include small engine, fleet vehicles and diesel engine equipment. Load out the truck brining the equipment that would be needed to preform coming tasks.
