I regularly lobbied the Virginia and Federal governments on behalf of underfunded public programs for gifted education. I addressed state-level representatives directly and the legislative aides of national Congressmen. I researched issue records to help colleagues and myself target advocacy effectively, creating arguments tailored to the individual Congressmen based on their values and key issues. I researched issue records to help colleagues and myself target advocacy effectively, creating arguments tailored to the individual Congressmen based on their values and key issues. The efforts of my group were instrumental in legislative action preserving $7.5 million in annual funding for the Javits Program despite many attempts to end it. I had a regular column regarding the current state of the college admissions process for the newsletter of the above organization, as well as writing an article on gifted education camps.

At CHEJ I helped the Ohio campaign develop an online community, lending assistance and advice through strategy calls. I also performed analysis of the issue records of Ohio's state legislators along with their campaign contributions, and mapped pollution data to demographics.

I represented the William and Mary Class of 2012, working with my fellow Senators as well as the SA Executive branch and the Undergraduate Council. In that capacity I appropriately funded campus programming and connected the students to the administration. By the end of my term I had accomplished with much help a campaign objective, a reform of the College's Medical Amnesty Policy.
