Worked for 40 years in the Tire & Rubber Industry ... roughly 10 years with Firestone, then 5 more years in the same organization after the Bridgestone takeover, then 25 years at Goodyear. Conducted research in properties related to rubber compound behavior under cyclic deformation including constitutive and durability modeling. Managed projects in Truck Tire, Off The Road Tire and Aircraft Tire durability improvement. Besides countless internal reports and presentations, acquired 5 US Patents, 20 Trade Secrets and 12 Technical Papers and Presentations in Journals or Conferences. Taught in the Goodyear Institute of Technology and just after retirement on April 1, 2018, joined five other lecturers in conducting the on-line Tire Vehicle Mechanics Short Course hosted by Saied Taheri of Va Tech. Currently volunteering at Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio in the Fred F. Silk Workshop where I have introduced CNC routing to their array of woodworking capabilities in support of their primary mission to provide affordable housing.
