He has performed internationally and released a critically-acclaimed album (Night Triptych) with his ensemble Duo Noire; premiered myriad works by the leading composers of our time, including Chris Brubeck's Concerto for Classical and Blues Guitars with the Memphis Symphony and works by Clarice Assad, Courtney Bryan, Mary Kouyoumdjian, Nathalie Joachim, Golfham Khayam, Gity Razaz, and Gabriella Smith, among others. As a composer, his work has been featured by Juilliard, the New York Philharmonic, the American Composers Forum, Peabody Institute, The Cleveland Orchestra, and several classical guitar organizations across the United States. Flippin has performed in notable venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street Y, the Whitney Museum Biennial, Peking University, the Blue Note Jazz Festival, and with the Stamford Symphony where he performed Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. He is a frequent chamber music collaborator, working with renowned soprano Alicia Hall Moran and MacArthur winner Jason Moran, premiering the theater production The Black Clown at Harvard's Repertory Theater, and performing in The Extinctionist and Breathing Free with Heartbeat Opera.
