Work with engineers and technicians daily to identify and resolve failures relating to the Interoperable Electronic Train Management system equipment for locomotives, develop and design test cables and test procedures to facilitate this process, part of the design team for developing new test simulation hardware for the purpose of training and testing IETMS locomotive hardware/software, modify and/or reverse engineer electronic devices for use with this equipment, write calibration and test procedures. Analyze data, track trends work with software and hardware engineering teams to determine root cause of IETMS equipment failures and drive to a corrective action resolution, also worked with customers on site to determine failure causes and develop solutions.

Review, update, and perform quality checks on incoming prototype circuit board assembly using, CAD programs such as gerbtool,camtastic, and inhouse proprietary programing to build up a profile for SMT pick n place machines, review engineer/assembly drawings to ensure accurate build profiles, supervise the day to day assembly process pertaining to the engineering department, track and calculate return materials, update and evaluate the need for standard procedures and work instructions, interact with customers to ensure the utmost accuracy and quality for their PCB assemblies. Perform employee reviews, track and approve time sheets for payroll.

Routinely test and repair to component level, ConMed RF generator electrosurgical units, such as the Argon Beam Coagulation System 7550, Altrus Thermal Tissue Fusion energy source, AER Defense smoke evacuator system, System 5000/2450, utilizing various test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ac and dc power supplies, automated test programs. Work closely with design engineers to identify problems with current design materials/components and suggest modifications to improve performance. Provide technical support to biomedical technicians in the field. Familiar with ConMed policies and standard operating procedures. Perform modifications as necessary to ensure that the products meet manufacturer specifications
