I am currently nearing the completion of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training and am about to initiate two 3-6 month projects during which I will lead teams to solve two specific challenges within the pharma R&D setting. My goal was not to work on business processes, however, through my lean six sigma training I have come to see many relatively straightforward opportunities to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of the scientific work in a Pharma R&D setting. so far it is surprisingly rewarding. The change management and soft skills that develop with these efforts are useful in all settings.

I primarily support the Cardiometabolic Research group at Ridgefield. I support atherosclerosis but especially focus on Chronic Kidney Disease. We are investing a great deal of effort in establishing state of the art pipeline for processing NGS data and applying these data to early drug discovery and safety programs. I also provide support to the Immunology & Inflammation group - especially with respect to gene expression and NGS analyses. We are using topological data analysis techniques to augment more traditional analyses and to aid in data integration.

We are currently working on developing methods to understand physiology and pathophysiology at the molecular network level - both within and between levels of organization with the goal of manipulating network behavior to change the state space occupied.
