I was responsible for the management of three teams of Employment Law Specialists, providing support, guidance and training to those under my management to ensure the delivery of the highest quality services to our client base, whilst also being actively involved in advising clients where necessary. Concurrently, I reported to the Board of Directors on strategy within the service teams, KPIs, quality assessments and growth projection of the service teams to help the Company future proof lasting client relationships.

Working as part of a team of 14 specialist Employment Tribunal Advocates, I provided Respondents with support from the inception of a case through to appearing at all stages of Employment Tribunal Hearings. My goal was always to achieve the best commercially viable outcome for the client, whether that be settling claims where it was warranted or assertively defending my clients where a favourable outcome was anticipated. I have also represented Respondents in multi-day, complex discrimination, whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claims, as well as having successfully represented Respondents at the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

Working as part of a large team of specialist HR Consultants based across the UK, I provided employment law advice to SME business owners and management teams on the full range of HR and employment matters, including safe dismissals, negotiating settlements and drafting settlement agreements, redundancy consultations, managing under performance, grievance management and interpreting and changing terms and conditions of employment, as well as advising on complex discrimination complaints.

I would advise Respondents from as early on as preparing the ET3 responses to complying with orders for disclosure, bundle and witness statements and, on occasion, preparing skeleton arguments on behalf of the Litigation Consultant for hearings.
