Defined the T cell-inflamed/non-T cell inflamed tumor microenvironment. Determined role for host Batf3 dendritic cells, type I interferons, and the STING pathway. Identified contribution of tumor cell-intrinsic oncogenes events, germline polymorphisms, and the composition of the gut microbiome in immunotherapy efficacy. Basic and translational work has contributed to the development and testing of multiple immunotherapy candidates, including anti-PD-1 Abs, IDO inhibitors, STING agonists, beta-catenin inhibitors, DGK inhibitors, and gut microbiome manipulation. Scientific co-founder of Jounce Therapeutics and Pyxis Oncology. On Scientific Advisory Boards for Allogene, Catalym, Bicara, Maia, Samyang, Merck, Abbvie, Pyxis, and Jounce. Lead guitarist for The Checkpoints!
