- Charged with ensuring collection of valid and reliable data in order to maintain various records for the state and federal EPA as well as other governing bodies. An example would include providing the local fire departments with an inventory of the quality and quantity of chemicals that Mubea would store on campus in case of a fire.- Determined trends in incident occurrence throughout the multiple locations, based on incident reports submitted to EHS, in order to prevent incidents from reoccurring. - Assessed assets and resources that were used to improve the health of the community. This included the allocating of EHS funds to various business units in order to increase the safety and environmental aspects of their respective functions. An example would include the implementation of multiple outdoor storage sheds for used oils and hazardous wastes, in accordance with EPA and fire code standards.- Advocated for the use of evidence in decision making that affected the health of the workplace community. This would include incident trends to decrease future TRIRs, examining regulatory standards and ensuring that they were enforced, and retroactively looking at waste data to improve future outcomes.- Developed organizational goals and objectives in order to reach better compliance with regulating bodies as well as to maintain "continuing improvement" criteria for ISO14001 certification. This included, but was not limited to: implementation of Environmental Work Instructions, adding responsibilities such as inspections to various area supervisors, and reducing the amount of waste that was produced.- Facilitated communication between departments in order to improve the quality of multiple units at once and to reuse resources internally. An example of this would be instead of one BU trashing wooden crates that brought in raw material, they were instead given to another unit to send out finished product.
