The Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria (GHAIN) is the largest comprehensive HIV/AIDS project ever implemented in a single developing country. Begun in 2004 and funded by the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief through USAID, the five-year GHAIN project is strengthening and expanding a wide range of HIV/AIDS services to support the government of Nigeria's response to the epidemic.My responsibilities basically were identifying NGOs to partner with through strategic partnership with state governments and its agencies like State Action Committees on AIDS and National Primary Health Care development agency, develop sub agreements for Public Implementing Agencies, execute the sub agreements, and Review submitted proposals, evaluating them for soundness of project design and adequacy of program evaluation and sustainability.Provide technical assistance to grantees including conducting orientation sessions for new grantees, convening and leading workshops and roundtable discussions. Review and develop budgets based on sound accounting principles. Communicate information about GHAINs initiatives to policymakers, target communities, providers, and the general public. In addition to the above roles and responsibilities, I ensure coordination and compilation of activity, monthly and quarterly reports. Coordinate the development of Zonal office and IA workplans, participate in the review of project review and assessment.• Training state level staff to ensure sustainability and ownership in main areas of capacity development:assessment,methods,materials,and measurement across identified relevant content areas:• Assisting SACA, LACAs, and CSO Partners in ensuring effective and high quality programming by following Technical Assistance(TA) standards: and• Assisting SACAs in the production and monitoring of the state capacity development work plans.
