It is vitally important to let employees know that they are the most IMPORTANT element of health and safety of ALL employees, and that their ideas, input and participation in ANY program is not the only aspect of a successful program, but ensures that employees feel they are a part of the solution and not just a number.I have been in the hazardous materials/safety/environmental field for over 30 years. Working on RCRA sites, underground storage tank removal, and incineration projects, as well as helping employers reduce, and in often cases, eliminate their accidents has helped me develop systems and programs that give employers the best chance at success.Hazardous materials handling, waste disposal, and employee training are often some of the hardest programs to manage andkeep track of. Working with many different industries, I have ensured employees are handling, storage, handling and using hazardous materials in the proper way. Included in this are programs such as HAZCOM, HAZWOPER, lock out tag out, confined space entry. powered industrial trucks, fall protection, ergonomics and many others that are all vital programs to have in place.By ensuring the programs listed above are in place, companies go a long way to environmental compliace as well. Waste management, storm water mangement, non-hazardous waste disposal, air emissions, and programs to minimize/reduce waste streams are all a big part of my experince and education.
