About Thomas Gorse, M.Ed. Idt

Leveraging my M.Ed. as an Instructional Designer calls upon all the skills I've learned over many years in a variety of industries. I develop educational solutions leveraging my wealth of knowledge and experience. I have a highly technical certification based skill set that compliments my burning desire to build only the best educational experiences using interactive tools that lead to authentic learning. I develop content using online authoring tools and build LMS based courses geared for learner success.. As a technology educator, I have been in trenches and have learned how to apply varied technologies and learning theories to develop and deliver meaningful curriculum that focuses on student engagement, desired outcomes and meeting the needs and requirements of diverse learner groups.I am currently the AP Computer Science Teacher for Pearland High School. I focus on teaching basic logic models, then proceed through advanced techniques of JAVA programming to satisfy the College Board requirements for AP. I share industry experience and career perspectives to guide students toward success. To form a solid foundation to build-upon, I also teach the PAP Computer Science Courses.I bring 17 years of classroom experience teaching technology, computer programming & career oriented business classes as a Certified Texas Teacher. I've also created and led corporate (adult) technology training courses and developed many types of online video tutorials. I have worked in Oil & Gas, Network Engineering, Technology Start-Ups, Internet Design & Marketing, Consulting and Education.
