I am a recent graduate of Birkbeck College, completing my bachelor’s degree in Politics with a 2:1 (with Honours). Prior to beginning my studies, I worked as an Assistant Manager for Halifax in the Coventry area for over eight years. My decision to return home to London to begin my studies was based in my deep passion for politics, a subject I have enjoyed engaging in since my formative years around the family dinner table. During my time studying I have become developed my researching skills, with my proficiency in this area highly commended on all of my written work. Through the course of my degree I undertook modules in Parliamentary Studies, Transformations in Modern Politics, Governing by Number (in which I learned key Excel skills) and my dissertation in which I discussed the challenges facing the British State with regards to the looming fourth Industrial Revolution. My time working for Halifax allowed me to develop my people skills with my customer service scores regularly amongst the top in the Coventry area. Working in the Midlands also gave me a different perspective on life outside of where I grew up in North West London. Not being blinkered by a purely London-centric life experience has allowed me to have an insight as to how hard-working citizens perceive politics, setting me apart from many of contemporaries.Aside from politics, my other main passion is the game of rugby, a sport I have played for over 25 years. I have also helped coach junior sides. By imparting my deep knowledge of the game, I feel I am giving back something to the game that has given me so skills for life and many other opportunities over the years. Rugby has shown what teamwork, drive and integrity can give an individual.I am excited to starting the next stage of my professional life and ambitious to put my new skills to the test in a new sector.
