Woods Hole Group, Inc (formerly CLS America) is the sole service provider of the Argos satellite system (ie: when you run across a story about satellite tracking a shark, sea turtle, bird, or polar bear...that's us!!). So, next time you watch Shark Week and see them tracking a shark, you can say, "I know that guy!" My long-term pet project (in other words, what I'm passionate about) - I am working towards the development of an open-source repository of wildlife tags through the Argos Open-Source Grant Program. We have organizations working on open-source sea turtle tags, fin-mounted shark tags, towed designs for whale disentanglement, backpack-style raptor tags, and others.
