I was promoted to this role in August 2013, following a restructure of the Human Resources Division. This role is responsible for the management of the Employee Services Function (Payroll, Recruitment and Learning & Development) within Queensland Motorways, by driving and implementing initiatives that support business objectives and enhance employee engagement and organisational performance. The Employee Services Manager has six (6) direct reports (Payroll Officer, HR Officer - Payroll, HR Officer - L&D, HR Coordinator (x2) and HR Trainee).

I was appointed to this role in February 2013 (seconded since December 2012), following the departure of the previous manager. Reporting to the Divisional Manager Human Resources, the role was responsible for the development of an Organisational Learning & Development Strategy, including Corporate Learning & Development Calendar, and negotiating access to government funding to subsidise the delivery of nationally recognised training. The Learning & Development Manager had two (2) direct reports (Learning & Development Officer and Human Resources Graduate).

In this role, I was responsible for establishing a number of foundational programs to ensure effective onboarding, induction and orientation of employees into Queensland Motorways. The development of these programs utilised both organisational development and instructional design expertise. While in this role, I was seconded to the "Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS)" Project for a 4-moth period, to facilitate the organisational change program for the implementation of the new electronic document management system.
