Embarking on a new journey, leveraging 20 years of engineering experience, I transitioned from an engineering role to embrace the challenge of a full-time Technical Lead and Program/Project Manager at Two Sigma. My primary mission was to orchestrate the technology integration across Two Sigma’s burgeoning global offices. Collaborating with our Workplace Services team, architects, and general contractors, I was instrumental in shaping plans that aligned with our standards for design and IT integration across our offices in the US, Europe, and Asia.Our objective was clear: to equip our offices with cutting-edge IT and technology, delivering top-tier IT services to our end users while maximizing business value for our customers. Since my arrival in 2015, Two Sigma has experienced significant growth, expanding our main campus in New York City and establishing offices in Houston, London, Stamford, San Francisco, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, spanning approximately 625,000 square feet.The Covid pandemic slowed our office expansions, and in recent years, I transitioned to the Network Architecture/Engineering functionas a project manager. Here, I focused on Ultra Low Latency and High Frequency colocation trading platforms, liaising with exchanges across the globe in the US, Europe, and Asia. As a project/program manager, I spearheaded the expansion of unmanned computational trading venues.In 2022, Two Sigma underwent a rebranding, positioning itself as a Fin-Tech company. With a diverse portfolio of product offerings, hedge fund and venture capital, we have started to venture into AI engineering research and development, as well as cryptocurrency, over the past two years. This exciting journey continues to unfold, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

As the lead architect at General Electric Asset Management in voice and storage networks, I spearheaded the development of a multi-site, highly available, regional campus voice solution. This solution was built on the Cisco UC platform, encompassing Call Manager, Unity Connection, UCCX, Emergency Responder, Presence, and mobility. Additionally, I integrated a third-party PBX for the trading floor using the British Telecom ITS platform.Over five years, I successfully reduced OPEX by 1.2MM by migrating the complete voice infrastructure from Cisco-branded MCS hardware to a Cisco UCS blade deployment, virtualized on VMware ESXi.On the storage front, I managed the infrastructure to include EMC and NetApp storage arrays, SAN fabric management, and NAS, NFS, and CIFS file systems on Cisco MDS Catalyst and Nexus switches.I migrated the storage environment completely to a multi-site four-node 6080 NetApp FC Active/Active cluster. I implemented NetApp 3070 and 3240’s arrays as NAS arrays for file system and tertiary data retention.I set up disaster recovery and high availability to align with the BCP plan. I used mirroring and vaulting strategies for backup and retention to meet business policies, as well as encryption strategies. I implemented various SSD cache appliances for front-loading database warehouse read-only data.I led the planning, design, and execution to integrate FC and NAS storage with VMware to provide storage for over 320 client/server physical to virtualized migration initiatives. I worked with a team to implement the Cisco UCS infrastructure into the fabric stack for virtualized hosts. This journey at General Electric was filled with challenges, learning, and immense growth.

Systems lead in planning, design and management of complex, large-scale IT projects.Planned and led migration of corporate data center from IBM 3270 mainframe/Novell infrastructure to Windows-based Intel platform. Worked with team on large scale data center relocation and build out. Replaced mainframe DASD and Storage TEK arrays with EMC Clarion SAN using Cisco MDS for fabric switching HP and Dell tape arrays for archival.Furthered development of a centralized Microsoft Windows Server computing environment with a Citrix landscape facilitating 110 U.S. business locations, centralizing application access and processes providing over $2MM in OPEX reduction.Designed and implemented secure access to Web based services utilizing Cisco PIX and ASA implementing DMZ and secured firewalls for external access to approved data and information.Led transition to VMware ESX server platform consolidating 220 physical servers, creating high availability redundancy and further reducing CAPEX and OPEX with continued data center environmental reduction costs.Played key role in full-scale business continuity/disaster recovery planning and testing using SunGard services.

Managed IT infrastructure in US and Mexico, running on IBM RISC platform, AIX and HP 9000 and Wintel based Novell file and print systems. Provided and had key role in Pro-Forma 4GL development for Glovia MRP system. Managed and supported telecom infrastructure, with responsibility for programming Mitel 2000 PBX and Active Voice - voice mail system.As a Master Novell Certified Engineer I planned and led migration from Novell to Microsoft Windows Server, Intel based platform, including project management for implementation of Glovia ERP/MRP system based on Oracle 8i database technologies.Planned, designed and implemented technology infrastructure for newly established Monterey, Mexico manufacturing operations, to include data and telephony connectivity back to home operations in the U.S.To better leverage the capabilities of the MRP aspect of the Glovia software I trained in Microsoft Visual Basic developing Visual Basic PLC programs for automating manufacturing line controllers, with automated inventory control and integration into Glovia’s MRP system. This reduced upfront costs for raw materials.
