Working with a Learning Management System (LMS) to enable training content to be delivered when needed. The work includes creating, reviewing and updating all content to ensure it can be easily followed when delivered by this medium.Presenting and creating technical training courses for customers covering a wide range of topics offered by our software. Courses are delivered primarily through the LMS having hands-on learning as well as an aspect of technical presentation. Creation of course content involves learning new manufacturing processes as well as how our software works with those processes.Creating In App guidance for our cloud solution, aP Design, to give design engineers feedback specific to their designs for improving manufacturability and reducing cost.

-Used Pro-Engineer for creating component, assembly and functional layout 3D models and drawings. Used AutoCAD for review of non-conforming components and creating fixture drawings. -Created and modified engineering bill of materials for assembly parts and created engineering specification records at component part level, selecting suitable materials and any relevant surface finishing e.g. blasting or coating.-Worked across various departments including programming, supply chain, inspection and quality to ensure that drawings and part structures include sufficient information to be manufactured correctly and as efficiently as possible.-Provided sustained engineering support for hydraulically operated flow control devices and associated ancillary equipment. Involved reviewing designs for product improvement as well as non-conformance review of manufactured components to determine if they are acceptable for use. Also travelled to investigate product failures and presented the findings to external customers.-Provided ongoing technical support for special processes including metal finishing (copper coat, phosphate and shot blasting) and Xylan paint spraying. An example of this was the implementation of a spray nozzle for spraying paint evenly inside small diameter parts (approx 3” inside diameter to a depth of 12”). -Provided materials support for all product lines that are manufactured in Schlumberger Belfast. This takes the form of advice on material for new components and review of material non-conformances both mechanical and chemical.-Led continuous improvement projects for 2017 which have generated savings of almost $160K and seen component first pass yield increase from 14 to 100%. These savings were achieved through various approaches from reviewing manufacturing methods and tooling to reviewing engineering fit, form and function-In this role I have continued to train and mentor junior engineers including being a registered mentor for the IMechE.

The total cost for this project was £0.5M ($1M).
