• Worked under a graduate student in Dr. Ray Weil’s lab studying the effects of different timed cover crops on nitrogen pollution in groundwater. • Conducted biomass harvesting, biomass sorting, flagging, lysimeter readings and installation. • Lead a research team in biomass harvesting and sorting.

Homewood

• Conducted research on fruit fly gonads and sex determination with the gene Sex Lethal to study its effects in the germ cells of Drosophila melanogaster. • Supervised by graduate student under Dr. Mark Van Doren. • Conducted minipreps, transformations, restriction digests, fly and egg sorting/breeding, staining, confocal viewing, and wrote a research paper.

Johns Hopkins University, Homewood Campus

• Studied the structure and function of the proteins mCherry and GFP in the BRBT program under Dr. Carolyn Fitch. • Conducted minipreps, transformations, titrations, protein digest, restriction digest, spectrophotometry readings, and gel electrophoresis.
