Continuation engineer charged with providing support for peripherals, manufacturing, testing, and of class III implantable medical devices.

Responsible for maintaining and improving the desktop printer line. Day to day I would spend time updating legacy production procedures and trouble shooting problems with the legacy product line. I also was responsible to create process improvements for legacy software and firmware duplication procedures. I worked collaboratively with an Advanced Manufacturing Technology team on several key software improvements that resulted in over $1 Million in labor savings in the 2 years I was with the company. I headed up two key assembly and labor savings initiatives involving assembly station standardization. I worked collaboratively with a Senior Quality Engineering initiative to create automated test fixtures for all PCB boards. This involved translating schematics into breakout board designs, creating board layout from the schematic, ordering components, identifying solution errors and testing final designs.

I was responsible for proposing, designing and prototyping mixed signal circuits to integrate with existing digital interface. Primarily, the power requirements of the regulators in our test systems has increased in both magnitude and complexity and I was responsible for designing hardware and firmware to allow for measurement of power and temperature while maintaining backward compatibility with existing hardware and firmware interfaces. I was also responsible for updating the automated test software used by manufacturing technicians at final checkout, schematic update to ensure backward and forward compatibility, and rerouting PCBs where appropriate. I was afforded an opportunity to hone my skills in embedded hardware design, design using FPGAs and various mixed signal integrated circuit components to measure data in real time. I also had many opportunities to sharpen my talent of understanding where system failures occur and providing necessary feedback to prevent them in both current and future processes.

I was responsible for maintaining productivity goals by supporting a manufacturing line. I trouble shot problems with device failure, supported and developed test software programs, and provided technical maintenance on equipment. I was also responsible for creating new test setups and designing software applications to integrate productivity procedures and modular test data for more complete reporting and analysis of failures both manufacturing test equipment and finished goods. I wrote and supported .NET programs to integrate serial number tracking for devices with build generation to improve reliability and documentation of production processes.
