TrackID is an Android app beeing used my more than 10 Million users to find out the author and song title of music. The app records a few seconds of audio and then translates it into the correct artist.My role has been both a developer and projectleader for the Android application.We have been working with the agile method SCRUM to keep the administrative work as minimal as possible. As a project leader it has been my responsibility to create a detailed requirement specification as well as prioritize in which order tasks should be done in order to work as lean as possible.The developing work consists of sampling audio from the mic and feeding the gracenote library with the data. Once the library identifies something it notifies us with an identification number. With this id as a base we collect lots of information from the backend which is implemented with the REST and OAUTH 2.0 technology. Hence HTTP GET and POST calls has been used frequently. In order to parse and generate JSON data we have used google GSON library. The app is also using both Facebook API, Twitter API and of course Google Analytics.Except the key functionality - to find out the author of a song - lots of work has been spent on making sure the application looks great in all different android environments. Different screen sizes, and different languages requires thorough testing and a sense for details.
