About Thomas Herndon

I'm the Director and Budget Officer of the Office of Budget and Compliance at Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD) overseeing a team of federal and contract staff charged with formulating, executing, and reporting on the funding needs for HUD's nationwide grants programs. In addition, my Office also oversees CPD's Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Controls, Audit Response and Remediation, and Strategic Planning efforts for CPD programs in all 50 States and US Territories.My current focus centers on business transformation, strategic planning and development, and organizational development. I possess strong experience in budget formulation, execution, and performance management. I am currently growing my experience in risk management and internal controls (A-123 compliance). I also have professional experience in local government administration, program evaluation, and policy analysis, and I have my FAC P/PM Level II certification. I possess a high degree of technical savvy, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. My biggest professional goal is to continually seek fulfilling opportunities to make the world a better place.
