Thomas O. Hicks is Chairman, Founder, and Partner of Hicks Holdings LLC, a family office that owns and manages real estate, corporate assets, and investments, including the private equity firm Hicks Equity Partners. A Texas native, Hicks is a private equity pioneer with over 30 years’ experience in the industry. Hicks was the Co-Founder and Chairman of the private equity firms Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst and Hicks & Hass. Hicks is also a former owner of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars. Under his leadership, the Rangers set their first franchise record of 95 wins in a season and later won two American League West Division titles. During his tenure as owner of the Dallas Stars, they won the Stanley Cup and later went on to capture seven division titles. Hicks serves on the Board of Directors for The Beneficient Company, L.P. and previously served on the Boards of Directors for the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association, Crow Family Holdings, The Center for Strategic and International Studies, St. Mark’s School of Texas, the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Foundation, and the University of Texas Chancellor’s Council. A former member of The University of Texas System Board of Regents, Hicks also served as the Chairman of the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO).With strong ties to the community, he has provided continued support to numerous local organizations and has held various charity board memberships. Hicks was the 1996 co-chair of the Dallas Jewish Coalition for the Homeless "Vogel Alcove" project and was honored as the recipient of the 2000 Henry Cohn Humanitarian Award from the Anti-Defamation League. Hicks graduated with a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
