Responsible for:Daily preparation of analytical equipment. Routine maintenance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.Preparation and analysis of calibrator and quality control material using standard operating procedures.Use of the Westgard rules to interpret Levey-Jenning charts.High throughput analysis of 33 biomarkers using 4 analyser types with 14 analytical platforms in total.First-line trouble shooting and escalation through correct channels for issue resolution. Liasing with IT team to find a resolution to electronic management issues with sample processing.Use of error logging software for error tracking and process auditing.Review of laboratory quality documentation in line with relevant ISO standards and associated records (COSHH, MSDS and risk assessments).Verification of manual analytical equipment including pipettes.Analytical throughput to standard operating procedures to meet KPI targets focused on analytical quality and project timelines.Familiarity with immunoassay, electrochemical and photometric biochemical analytical methodologies.Experience in the use of Biobanking equipment including liquid nitrogen and vapour cooled long term storage equipment.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerforming a plethora of physical quality control tests on textiles using calibrated equipment including tensile strength, abrasion / pilling, water-resistance.Checking consistency of results and suggesting retest requirements.Working in a stringent, climate controlled testing environment.Once fully trained, given autonomy to organise and prioritise tasks to ensure demanding deadlines are met.Working shifts including some outside normal working hours.Training of new starters including operational skills and techniques.Working to British Standard or Manufacturer stipulated operating procedures.Use of personal protective and safety equipment in line with stringent health and safety protocols.
