Director of Operations for the grassroots Toray Carbon Fiber Plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The first phase of the project involves a $450M investment, and will include state of the art Toray Technology. My responsibilities include Production for the entire site.

Extensive experience in Nylon 6,6 Polymer Resin and High Tenacity Yarn production (Toray design) as well as Quality Assurance.1997 - 2013:Polymer Operations Manager, with extensive experience in new product development, batch and continuous rate and yield improvement, and use of statistical tools to improve key PpK's for improved customer performance. Capital Projects Summary:Installed additional batch autoclave reactor and new dual Reiter pelletizers. Capital cost was $2.7M, and was below cost and started up 3 months early. Project delivered 15% capacity increase.Installed four new Kason vibratory screeners in the bulk and packaging area, which provided a step level improvement in product quality. All key customers confirmed the quality improvement. Cost for all four screeners was $1.1M. Installed a truss screw in the continuous polymerization line which provided at 15% rate increase on this production line. All project deliverables were met. Project cost was $650K.2008-2013:Nylon Industrial Yarn (Toray Design) Operations Leader. This area produced airbag, tire and industrial yarn. Incremental rate increases and new product development kept this area running near capacity at all times. In addition, airbag yarn production was supplemented by producing light denier yarn on heavy denier extruders. Capital Project Summary:A 50% heavy denier capacity increase was accomplished with the addition of four additional extruders. Two started up in October 2010, and two started up in April 2011. The Toray design SSP tower was successfully debottlenecked as well to handle this 50% increase in heavy denier production. Total project cost was $10M.2013: Site Quality Assurance Manager. Extensive customer interaction regarding product performance and new product development, as well as Chem Lab and Physical Testing Lab responsibility.

Corporate role with responsibility for divisional Capital Budget preparation and implementation as well as divisional operating budget preparation.

Operations Leader in Union Plant that produced Phosphoric Acid, and sodium, calcium and aluminum phosphate derivatives. Extensive experience in operations, maintenance, capital improvement projects, warehousing and shipping.Negotiated two union contract negotiations while at this location.
